Sensitive Tooth: If a tooth lost tissue and bone, it can expose the junction of the crown and root which is no longer protected by the enamel. See a dentist to make it sure that there are no gum recession, cracks or cavity on your tooth. He/ she will also evaluate if you have a deep bite.

Spontaneous Pain?: Does the pain spontaneously occur without cause? May be cracked tooth. If it is only sensitive to sweet, then you most likely have a cavity. If it is temperature sensitive, then you could have gumline recession with exposed root surface which has nerve endings. If it is bite force sensitive, you may have a cracked tooth. You may clench or grind your teeth. See dentist for evaluation / treatment.

Visit your dentist: Did you have a trauma to your lower anterior jaw area? It sounds like maybe you may have a chip at the edge of the tooth, and you may even have exposed dentin (inside part of tooth under enamel) or even an exposed nerve. If not, you may have tooth abrasion caused by overzealous brushing or even an occlusal issue. Visit your dentist, and he/she can tell you what is going on.

Possibilities: Can be fractured tooth, traumatized tooth, exposed root, malocclusion, compromised nerve, and a whole host of other reasons. See your Dentist for an examination to determine cause and then appropriate treatment.
