How does diabetic treat depression?

No differently: Diabetics get depression. It is one of the chronic disease management screenings primary care physicians look for in their care just as we do foot exams, eye exams etc. Thre are many medicaitons used to treat depression and if one has neuropathy, one antidepressant is particular help with both. If you have dm and depression, discuss with your pcp, endocrinologist, mental health provider.

Psychotherapy: Psychotherapy can treat depression and has been shown to improve compliance with a diabetic regimen. Untreated depression can lead to weight gain, which is not good for a depressed patient. See a therapist.
