DBT: Dialectical behavior therapy helps to develop mindful awareness & tolerance of stress while incorporating reality testing & cognitive behavioral therapy. It also focuses on improving interpersonal interactions. It is helpful for people with mood disorders or borderline personality disorder who harm themselves. It assists with emotional regulation.

DBT: Dialectic behavioral therapy - which found its start in the therapy of borderline personality disorder, essentially uses the "dialectical process" of thesis-antithesis-synthesis to reveal to the person in therapy where the reality behind their perceptions lies. (see: higelian dialectic). It is generally thought to be very effective and therapeutic.
