Is it normal to have low levels of autoantibodies against your thyroid & 3.4 u/ml of autoantibodies against gad-65? what would this mean to a doctor?

Thyroid antibodies: Everyone will have some antibodies. This depends on what antibody you are measuring as to what level is accepted as normal. Look on the normal range the lab has - it is usually listed as a < # as normal value. Tpo are usually <30. This would mean is the number is greater than 30 the antibodies are abnormal. I hope this helps.

No: While it may be common, it is not normal. Low levels show you have had prior thyroiditis, but do not say when or how severe. The gad antibodies are associated with development of type 1 diabetes. Check w/your doctor. Ps: why did you have these drawn in the first place?
