Concerta: No you should notice effects sooner as these do not need to be taken every day to be effective.

Ask the doctor: Your doctor knows your body and history and other details of your case. Ask them for what to expect - this time and any time you get a Rx. Ask for side effects, what to expect in terms of waiting relief, when to call if anything bad happens, etc. You might get this at the pharmacy too. People's responses vary too, but ask for usual facts.

No: You should start to feel the effects of the Concerta within the hour. Then it will work for 12 hours; it has a special formulation to slow release, so don't ever try and split these. By the 12th hour, the medicine is mostly out of your system, and you should be able to wind down and go to sleep.
