It will get bettter: I would reccomend either a good home exercise program or to start a good physical therapy program. If you start developing pain down one of your legs, then you may be a candidate for a series of epidural injections in your back. Many people will improve in 6-8 weeks with conservative care of nsaids, therapy/exercises, heat/ice, and activity modification.

PT, antinflammatory : It is possible to minimize or eliminate the pain associated with discs with a short course of anti-inflammatories (if not contraindicated) and physical therapy. The pt will likely try traction to relieve the pressure on the disc, evaluate and fix the mechanics/ergonomics that caused the problem and strengthen your core to use your own muscles for support to put less pressure on the discs.

Try PT: Physical therapy and core strengthening will often aid in alleviating problems from lumbar disks. Medication such as nsaids can also help with pain in the short term. If you develop more symptoms in your legs ask for a referral to a neurosurgeon.
