A member asked:

I had a vaginal swab that showed haemophilus influenzae. i this dangerous? can it cause menegistis ans can i pass it to my children?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Normal flora: Hemophilus influenzae is a little unusual to be isolated from a vaginal swab, but this organism is part of our normal bacterial population, primarily found in the upper respiratory tract. Like all bacteria, it has the potential to create infection under the right circumstances, but this is not common without some predisposition.
