How can i find out if a doctor is just a "pill-pusher" or has knowledge of alternative medicine possibilities?

Ask: If you have reasonable alternative medicine plan for your situation, propose it to your dr and see how it is received. If instantly shut down without much rationale, then no. If educated / rational concern behind using / not using alternative, consider in your decision. Most chronic conditiions not well controlled w/only alt-med, but can help reduce need for meds.
