Folate/folic acid: Is a b vitamin found in green leafy veggies, beans, peas, sunflower seeds, & supplements. Taken before & during pregnancy it helps prevent neural tube defects like spina bifida. Od symptoms may include numbness/tingling, mouth/tongue pain, weakness, tired feeling confusion, or trouble concentrating, but od unlikely since it's water-soluble & removed from body in urine. 600-800 mcg/d usual dose.

Folic Acid: I recommend that you take only methyl folate (folic acid) since MTHFR SNPs are so common and can cause big problems with fertility and birth defects. You really cannot overdo uncooked dark leafy greens, though.
