Prenatal vitamins: Folic acid and folate are often used interchangeably but folate refers to all the different forms of vitamin B9. I think it's crucial that you specifically take prenatal vitamins as they have extra amounts of folic acid, iron and vitamin B12 which are very necessary in pregnancy. Your obstetrician can advise you further about this matter.

Folic acid: Stellar active folate contains 500 mcg of folic acid. Women with a family history of neural tube defects may need 4,000 mcg per day. if trying to conceive consider 400 to 800 mcg/ day.
