Have evaluation...: I'm sorry to learn of your discomfort. Can you recall an injury? The symptoms that you describe may indicate a meniscal tear. There are several types of meniscal tears (see pic). Common symptoms include pain, swelling, clicking/ popping, locking/ catching, giving way, and/ or limited range of motion. You should seek an orthopedic evaluation if your symptoms don't subside in the near future.

Yes.: Trauma? Meniscal tears will act like that as well as other reasons including articular cartilage lesions, plica band, synovitis.
