Need exam: possible mild sprain or torn cartilage. Must be examined , evaluated, diagnosed, x-rays and treated.

Meniscal tear: There are several possibilities, but among the more common is a tear in the meniscus. When the meniscus tears, a part of it can move around the knee joint and cause the clicking you are describing. There are other potential causes as well. I would not hesitate to be seen if it persists.
