See a dermatologist: If you notice a new mole or a changing mole, it should be evaluated by a dermatologist. Asymmetry of the mole, uneven borders, multiple colors, larger than a 1/4 inch in diameter, or the mole evolving are a few of the cardinal signs of potential melanoma. The dermatologist will decide once seeing it if it needs to be biopsied.
