Similar medication: Inegy® contains Simvastatin and ezetimibe. Simvastatin is similar to crestor® in the way it lowers cholesterol, but different enough to cause "myositis" or muscle pain. More importantly is determining if you have a genetic cause for your elevated cholesterol. Ask your doctor to order a gradient gel electrophoresis test or a vap™ or liposcience™ profile including apob. It may change your treatment.

Possibly statin: Crestor (rosuvastatin) is a statin, and inegy contains a statin. Muscle discomfort or weakness are common side effects of this class of medications. Check with your doctor. If your doctor feels your muscular pain is medicine related, your medication may need to be stopped or reduced in dosage or frequency.
