Rest: Likely just a muscle strain. Best to rest, use nsaids, and stretch. It should improve i a week or two. If it dos not, see a physical medicine specialist for advise.

Lifting injuries: Neck or back pain that starts with a lifting event usually suggests poor technique. Reaching away from the body, then bending/twisting while lifting is asking for problems. If pain is recent, in the midline, and getting better, then nothing to do. Just use good technique and don't be afraid to ask for lifting help next time. Lift with weight as near your body as possible using legs/straight back.
