Why is my daughter having seizures daily even though she is on 3 different seizure med and just had the doses increased?

Refractory: Seizures vary significantly in their underlying causes and a large number of patients are never able to achieve seizure control. Many patients try multiple medications before finding a regimen that works to improve their seizure control. In refractory patients, non-medication treatments can also be tried. These include the ketogenic diet, the vagus nerve stimulator (vns), and epilepsy surgery.

Toxins?: Sometimes seizures are related to toxic load. You might consider removing all additives and considering an elimination diet-.

Issue is dose or med: The problem may be that your daughter has a seizure syndrome that is known to be resistant to treatment. Other issues may be the dose of the medications, their blood levels and a need for medication that work by a different mechanism than tje ones she is currently taking. there are newly approved anti seizure medications that work by unique mechanisms. ask your neurologist about them.
