My daughter recently had an eeg done. i am still awaiting results. i noticed constant xl spikes about every 30-60 seconds, sometimes faster. this went on for 3 hours while she slept. is this indicative of seizure activity? or normal? abnormal?

Repetitive XL spikes on an EEG are usually indicative of a seizure disorder. However the neurologist involved in your daughter's care is by far the best person to advise you and answer your questions.

I would assume that EEG was done due to your daughter having episodes of altered consciousness. Have no clue what "XL" means, but spikes can correlate with epilepsy. A pediatric neurologist should be involved.

You should have been given an interpretation of the results. This is a very specialized are in medicine. Interpretation is based on patterns in the brain activity
