Not herpes.: Mucoceles, or other irritation of your buccal mucosa (e.G accidental biting sores or aphthus ulcers) are more likely in the absence of pain.. Please see your family physician to be evaluated in depth (and/or your dentist).

Prob mucocoeles: If they come and go and are not painful are probably mucocoeles. Herpetic lesions are usually painful. Here a picture is worth a thousand words and they need to be seen by someone when present for a correct diagnosis!

Probably not: Sounds like the opening to your salivary duct (stenson's duct) - part of normal anatomy. But if you have questions - contact your local oral surgeon to verify. Herpes is usually painful ulcers and mucocoeles are on the lower lip.
