I have been diagnosed with sciatica and have been sent to pyshiotherapy which is not helping at all, how do i go about getting an xray?

Not useful: An x-ray will not be useful in this situation. I would not give up on physical therapy. That is the best treatment. Bed rest does not help. If it is not better in a month further testing will be necessary (most likely mri). Most people are surprised about how much better they are in a month.

Discuss with doctor: If the physical therapy is failing, you could be worsening, or the source of your problem is progressing, or the location of the sciatica may be a piriformis syndrome. Talk to your doctor, as perhaps testing is required.

Ask Doctor: See your pcp first. You may need to get an MRI to evaluate this spine pain and possibly evaluation from spine/pain specialist.

37yo F- low back pain, L sciatica, Low back hurts to press on it. GP sent for X-ray-shows lumbar facet degenerative change, mild facet hypertrophy, mild levoscoliosis, and probably mild disc narrowing at L5-S1. Is this anything to worry about?
Scaroilitis or sciatica? What's difference? Had an X-ray & dr says it's sacroilitis, but i feel pain in my back, hips & it runs to knee, is it both?

When you get injected with dye to get X-ray (mri, cat...) are you suppose to feel sick afterwards. Doctor had me take some test to check my blood, i was diagnose with cancer but i'm in remission.
