A member asked:

What causes seizures at the age of 21 month in a boy child when his fever was only 100.9 degrees?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Febrile seizure: Febrile seizures are not dependent upon the height of the fever. You can have a febrile seizure at 100.9 derees, and you can not have one at a temperature of 104 degrees. As long as it is an uncomplicated seizure, just keep child well hydrated and get plenty of rest. Likely has more to do with which virus is causing the illness rather than the height of the fever.
