A member asked:

My question is what causes febrile seizures besides having a fever?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

By definition: Seizures in young children associated with high fevers are termed "febrile seizures". The prognosis for the future is usually very positive. If a young child has a seizure without a fever, i would be suspicious for an underlying cause for epilepsy, and further testing would be indicated.
