Febrile seizures are: more likely in infants & toddlers with a family history of febrile seizures. 1st seizure is usually between 6 months & 3 years. Temperature is usually 102 degrees or >. No studies have proven that reducing fever reduces risk of a febrile seizure, If 1st febrile seizure is at <12 mos., recurrence is more likely, but only 2-5% of tots with febrile sezures develop epilepsy.
