Yes: Weight loss will help with all symptoms of pcos including excess hair growth. Unfortunately the excess hair that has become darker and thicker may not go away completely, but weight loss will prevent new hair from growing. You may still need to apply other methods for completely getting rid of the excess hair such as laser. Talk to your doctor if weight loss does not completely address hair growth.

Unfortunately, no.: Losing weight is very difficult and frustrating issue for patients having pco, despite proper diet and excercise. This is due to several metabolic and hormonal factors associated with the condition. Hypothyoidism can also contribute to this problem. The good news is that the associated cosmetic problems can be treated medically with male hormonal blockers and birth control pills.

Possible: The hair growth could be due to an elevated testosterone level because of the pcos. Losing weight would likely restore your normal cycles which would eventually lower the testosterone level.
