Need Consultation: The orthodontis needs to actually see your situation to determine what type of treatment and how long it will take.

Depends: If you're a compliant patient and the malocclusion is very slight, the treatment may take about 12-14 months. Retention is forever!

Need more info: Depends on many factors-- are there crossbites? Rotated teeth? I would consult with 2 or 3 orthodontists who can see your teeth (assuming you got this diagnosis from one orthodontist and are concerned about the time estimate they provided).

Depends: That's a difficult question to answer without seeing your teeth. Underbites can be relatively simple or extremely difficult to correct depending on the underlying cause. You have to look at two things: jaw position (the bones) and tooth position. Sometimes if the underbite is only from tooth position, then it may not take long. Best thing to do is to schedule an exam with your orthodontist.

Depends: Could be 12-15 months or it could be much longer and could require jaw surgery to completely treat your underbite. Please see an orthodontist or two and get a qualified estimate for your particular case. Most orthodontists do free initial exams.

Need info: Time in treatment may vary according to dental relationships, jaw relationships, patient cooperation, etc. You need to see a qualified orthodontic specialist for an evaluation. With benefit of all of the diagnostic tests the orthodontist can estimate your anticipated time in treatment.

Wear your elastics: as prescribed by your orthodontist and you should have a correction in no time. It sounds like you are pretty close to correcting your bite at this time. Of course ask your orthodontist to give you an estimate of when you might be done with your treatment
