Have had fevers from 1/24/13 to present (3/23/13). had gall bladder removed on 2/2/13. developed ascites. what could be causing fevers and ascites?

Sample fluid: A paracentesis ( needle into belly to draw out ascites) is needed to determine if you have an infection or not. If so antibiotics are needed. If not your liver should be assessed for an abscess or portal vein clot. In addition cancer is a possibility and should be assessed. Get in right away for a thorough evaluation. The ascites is caused by something and the answer should be sought.

Post cholecystectomy: What test and labs were done did you have fluid secondary to blood, bile or another cause? Was an ercp, mrcp or hida performed post op many things can cause this picture after surgery it's tough to tell without labs and imaging to.
