Urologist: If this is a chronic symptom I recommend consulting a urologist for diagnosis and treatment. Interstitial cystitis is a nonbacterial inflammation of the urinary bladder and may be the cause of your symptoms. Appropriate testing will be carried out by the urologist in order to make a diagnosis. If no bladder pathology is found you may be referred to a gynecologist.
