is it safe to leave my nuvaring in for longer than 4 weeks?

You should not: Nuvaring is meant to be used for 3 weeks, removed for a week and then a new one placed. The hormone in the NuvaRing is only enough for 3 weeks. The presence of the ring for longer than 3 weeks may cause a vaginal discharge and other problems. It is best to use the ring as directed.

Can happen: Most likely due to you leaving the ring longer than advised. Do a pregnancy test 7-10 days after unprotected intercourse episode to be sure
