A member asked:

If most dentists recommend soft toothbrushes for us, then why are medium and hard toothbrushes even on sale?

People buy them: Soft brushes are the only ones safe to use on teeth. Hard ones cut the tooth and cuts the gum tissue. Medium ones promote tooth decay and gum disease. Hard and medium toothbrushes are great for cleaning around kitchen and bath faucets and tile floors.

Good Question: Over the years we have moved to recommending soft toothbrushes because of the potentialto cause gumline erosion.
