EITHER ONE IS GOOD IF YOU USE THEM PROPERLY. A SOFT BRUSH IS BEST AND THE TECHNIQUE OF BRUSHING PROPERLY NOT UP AND DOWN BUT CIRCLES AND ON THE GUMS AS WELL AS THE TEETH. CHANGE BRUSH EVERY THREE MONTHS AND CLEAN AFTER EACH USE. THE MORE BRISTLES ON THE BRUSH THE MORE IT COVERS.
