See the Dr.: Ususally the cost of braces includes visits to evaluate and treat these types of problems (check with your dr.). For continuity of care, you should call the orthodontist that put your braces in and get an evaluation of the gingivitis.

Rinse with water: Really try to keep everything clean. Most inflammation is caused by plaque buildup. Rinse with warm saline. You may also take an anti- inflammatory.

Ask for help: If you have swollen gums, then you need specific instructions from your orthodontist on home care with your tooth brush and floss. More frequent visits with your family dentist for cleanings and check-ups during braces are also recommended.
