Leukoedema, leukopla: Leukoedema is a white patch inside the mouth that can be wiped off with gauze. It is normal and nonpathological. Leukoplakia, on the other hand, is a white patch inside the mouth that cannot be wiped off. It represent tissue change and could be pathological, as it may progress into red color as it grows, develop acanthosis, and carcinoma in situ.

Needs to be checked: White or grayish patches inside the mouth is called Leukoplakia or Keratosis.An irritant like a rough tooth,broken denture or chewing tobacco can cause cell overgrowth &cause these patches.Leukoplakia usually is not dangerous,but sometimes can be serius,Most leukoplakia are benign and non cancerous.Some show early sign of cancer.We can not be sure if it ia leukoplakia but I advise get it checked
