With monitoring: With close monitoring of doses and responses, these 2 can be taken -- but other beta blockers can avoid these issues. Zoloft (sertraline) can slightly inhibit certain liver enzymes (cyp2d6) that metabolize propanolol. In that case, the effects of propanolol could be increased beyond what's expected from a given dose. Heart rate could be monitored for slowing, BP checked, etc. And you could be safe.

Monitor BP : Zoloft (sertraline) could increase level of propranolol. Both metabolized by same enzyme in liver. Alternative would be beta blocker not metabolized by liver. Talk with your prescribing doc.
