Changes with time: Chondroplasty does not in and of itself cause problems with the meniscus. Your gait and biomechanics of walking may have changed or an injury (mild) may have been the straw that broke the camel's back (meniscus). Degenerative tearing of the meniscus occurs with age as does arhritis requiring chondroplasty.
