Silver linings: Hard to believe today because of all the care options available, but kidney failure used to be universally fatal. With good care and excellent cooperation fron the patient (you!) work, a family life, a sex life, transplant - much is possible. Try to focus on the positive and to listen to the professionals advising you. Ask questions and know your medications. Good luck.

Support group : I assume you are on dialysis. It is very difficult for anyone to go through dialysis, especially a 21 year old. I would urge you to contact the local chapter of the american kidney patient associatn. There should be support groups to help you. In addition your dialysis unit has a social work assigned to your care. Ask about local resources to help. Finally consider a referral to psychologist.
