What physicians deals with renal cell carcinoma? do they usually remove the bad kidney?

Urology, oncology: Typically these are treated by urologists and oncologists. Removal of the affected kidney is considered the best option if the other kidney is in good shape. (remember, lots of people donate kidneys) talk to your doctor about this plan.

Urology oncology: Urologists are surgeons involved with removing the tumor. Today, many renal cell carcinomas are identified when they are small and a procedure called partial nephrectomy can be done to remove only part of the kidney. If the tumor has spread, either before or after removing it, oncologists deal with chemotherapy treatment for the metastatic disease.
