Yes: Yes. Trauma from childhood can cause ptsd. Sxs can include insomnia, nightmares as well as avoiding people, places or things that remind you of the trauma. You may become easily hyperaroused (not sexually) by triggers with physiologic symptoms like rapid breathing, excellerated / pounding heartbeat, upset stomach etc. If you believe you may have ptsd, recommend working with a good psychologist.

Consider therapy: It is not unusual to have symptoms of PTSD related to traumatic experiences in childhood. A psychiatric evaluation is in order and therapy can be helpful sometimes along with medication
