What type: There are many causes of gastritis, as gastritis just means inflammation of the stomach. It may be from medications, acid, bile, alcohol , autoimmune, infectious (hpylori) , etc.

Gastritis is curable: But can be recurrent. Any condition that will increase acidity can cause it to flare up such as stress, drinking too much caffeinated drinks, eating spicy foods etc. So minimize or alleviate these contributory factors to reduce the flareups. Follow your dr's advice. If untreated, gastritis may cause acid reflux. Don't worry much about your illness . Focus more on enjoying life cuz it's short.
