Lung cancer : Can arise in a bronchus, block it, cause pneumonia that either does not clear, or clears slowly. Thereby, indicating need for a bronchoscopy. A pneumonia may also not clear if treated with the wrong antibiotic for the causative agent of the pneumonia.
