Here is my guidance: Chest pain can be caused from many causes, lung cancer is not the first thing that should come to your mind. If the pain has been present for more than one week and your concern is cancer, a Chest X-ray will show it easily. But you should go see a doctor first in case your pain is persistent for >1 week..
