Not normal: Mouthwash shouldn't cause thrush--it should help prevent it. Find a better mouthwash! i recommend listerine or crest prohealth (or the generic equivalents). The real question is why did you get thrush, since it is unlikely the mouthwash caused the thrush. So what is the underlying health issue that allowed a fungal infection to occur? What did the dr. Say?

Possible connection: Mouthwash can have a high percentage of alcohol content and if used regularly over several days or weeks, may dry out the soft tissues. There are other mouthwash options with little or no alcohol which may be better.
