Tongue peeling: Something appears to be damaging the surface of your tongue. Canker sores are a possibility. Also loss of the normal tongue papillae would cause a bald spot prone to peeling. An oral surgeon or a specialist at the oral pathology department at a school of dental medicine could evaluate and advise you best.
