Many causes: Eyes can be red from infection, allergies, internal inflammation and trauma. If your vision is disturbed, if there is pus, or if there is pain and light sensitivity, then you need to see an ophthalmologist to sort this out and administer the proper treatment.

Pain? : Might be as simple as an allergy. Might be as severe as a pink eye and require medicine. If there is itchiness and tearing and or mucus secretion might be an allergy. If there is discharge might be an infectious conjunctivitis that needs to be checked and treated by and eye doctor.
