A member asked:

When im squatting at the gym is it bad at all to squat past my thighs being parralel to the ground?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: That does put a lot of stress on the patellofemoral joint, which is the undersurface of the knee cap as it rides on the femur with bending of the knee. Past parallel to the ground is not recommended for this exercise.
