Most likely: Some stones are bilirubin, and one may need to look for causes of the stone and adjust. Other risk factors, obesity, diet may still need attention to be normal. The surgery has risks but are low and most heal just fine. Most cholecystectomy is done by laparoscopy these days.

Yes: You might have transient post prandial pain for a few weeks after surgery, but this goes away in nearly all cases. You will lead a life, not only normal, but better than before because you will not have any more pain when you eat. And surgery is laparoscopic these days, so you should be out of the hospital on the same day or at most one day after surgery, with small scars and minimal pain.
