Topical analgesics: Most common one is bengay cream or any other one has salicylate or other anti inflammatory medicine like diclofonate. Keep neck warm at all times.

Yes: You could also try voltaren (diclofenac) gel, which is an antiinflammatory like Ibuprofen but in a topical form. There are also pharmacies that make combination pain creams that have multiple meds in them that can help multiple causes of the pain.

Yes but no: There are pain relieving ointments (tons of them otc) that can possibly calm down the discomfort. But you are treating symptoms, not the source. Physical therapy, chiropractic, massages, and even TMJ treatment gets more to the real triggers.
