Let it happen naturl: If your cervix is not effacing or dilated even medication would not be guaranteed to start your labor. Your OB should watch you well & check babies condition frequently.Most ob's here would start inductions by 41wks or earlier if there were any problem signs with baby.

Can walk may help: But if she were my pt i would offer her induction as a recent large study showed the ideal time for the baby to be delivered is 39-40 weeks if she were my pt i would rec cervadil to ripen cervix in the evening in the labor room, then start Pitocin (oxytocin) in am I have induced unripe cervix many times at 40 weeks and the induction works 99% of time and have prevented many more chance for prob after 40wks.
