Limited safe options: Two ounces of castor oil (you can cut the taste with orange juice) is safe and has been used by midwives in particular for decades at least. How well it really works is arguable. Your best approach is simple patience. Sometimes an induction is necessary but it need not be done without a clear indication.

Strip membranes: Intercourse was felt to increase the chance of labor but a recent study calls that into question. The only other way is having your OB provider strip your membranes during a visit to the office, but even that is hit or miss.
