Ablation: Uterine ablation works best when the uterine lining is thinned out. Progesterone helps thin out the uterus so it is common for doctors to put patients on Progesterone prior to an ablation procedure.

Ask your doctor: There are several reasons for using a progestin before an ablation. Some ablations work better if the endometrial lining is thin. The novasure works well if it is thick too. Your doctor may be using it to help control your bleeding before the procedure, or perhaps your doctor is considering another method of ablation. The hta works well and can be done in office and with an irregular uterus.
