Find pulse: You have a pulse in front of where the top part of the pinna of your ear attaches to your scalp. Feel this pulse on both sides. If it is not tender and the artery does not feel extra thick / tough, and there are no similar spots beyond this across the front of the scalp in the area supplied by the artery, you probably do not have temporal arteritis, especially considering you age.
