When i lie down at night with my head on my pillow i can hear my heart beating loudly in my ears. it is often so loud that i cannot get to sleep. i have borderline normal blood pressure and heart rate ?

Heartbeat: In my experience this is usually associated with mild hypertension and increased cardiac stroke volume. Monitor your own BP at home and if it is even high normal. get a prescription for a beta blocker from your PCP. This type of drug will usually eliminate the beating sound at night.
